| Breaking News | | Monday, August 6th, 2035: RL Awards Player of the Week Trophy It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Read League, but last week Nate Gillespie of the Moose Jaw Caribou reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week.
Gillespie rocked opposing pitching for a .516 average (16-31), 2 home runs and 7 RBIs to come away with the award.
So far this year Gillespie is batting .309 with 11 home runs, 52 RBIs and 80 runs scored. | | Saturday, August 4th, 2035: Tillett Gives Nashville Goose Eggs In a very impressive mound performance, Philip Tillett stopped the Nashville Flyers cold. The 38-year-old Caribou hurler blanked them on 4 hits to post a 16-0 triumph.
This season Tillett has compiled a 7-10 mark with a 4.34 ERA. | | Sunday, July 29th, 2035: Gillespie Batters Montgomery for 5 Hits Moose Jaw center fielder Nate Gillespie could do no wrong in today's 20-2 win over the Greys as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Greys said to the press corps after the game.
Gillespie agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
N. Gillespie flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Gillespie is currently hitting at a .300 pace with 9 home runs, 47 RBIs and has scored 76 times. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 63-67, .485 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 18.0 GB | | Record at home | 35-30, .538 PCT | | Record on the road | 28-37, .431 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-5, .545 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 16-19, .457 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 18-13, .581 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 45-54, .455 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 9-5, .643 PCT | | Record in May | 7-22, .241 PCT | | Record in June | 13-13, .500 PCT | | Record in July | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in August | 16-13, .552 PCT | | Record in September | 2-2, .500 PCT |
