Who needs batting practice? Freddy Steward of Warrensburg apparently doesn't as he battered Columbus with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 12-2 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
F. Steward doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
So far in 2031 Steward is batting .333 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 48 at-bats and a .396 OBP. |

It was a razor-sharp performance by Tony García of the Marlton Mall Rats against the Columbus Road Hogs. He fashioned a fine 1-hitter in blanking them 8-0 and chalked up 13 strikeouts and 1 walk.
So far this season García has 12 wins and 2 losses and a 1.71 ERA.

Who needs batting practice? Sergio Lorenzo of Columbus apparently doesn't as he battered Plattsburgh with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 15-7 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
S. Lorenzo hit a two-run triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 7th.
In this current campaign Lorenzo is hitting at a .339 clip with 1 home run and 13 RBIs.
