| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, November 6th, 2030: Vaughan League Selects Top Rookie José Fernández stepped it a notch and moved to the head of the class today as the 26-year-old center fielder for Indianapolis bagged the Vaughan League Rookie of the Year for 2030.
He outdistanced all other newcomers in his debut season. Fernández put up some good stats, hitting .320, batting in 73 runs and scoring 91 times, while playing in 134 games. The Ice Weasels newcomer also had 31 doubles, 8 triples and 15 home runs.
Fernández will be honored this weekend at the SBWA awards dinner. |  | Thursday, October 24th, 2030: Indianapolis Beats Santa Cruz in Solecismic Series The Indianapolis Ice Weasels concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the Front Office Baseball League Solecismic Series. They nailed it down at David Letterman Field by whipping the Santa Cruz Sea Lions 5-1 to win it all. They took the series 4-1.
Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".
"They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season," the Ice Weasels manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."
To get their 4th league crown, the Ice Weasels finished up the regular season in the Vaughan League Calzone Division with a 114-48 record, ending up in first place in the division standings. |  | Sunday, October 20th, 2030: Davis Day-to-Day with Injury Indianapolis star third baseman Erik Davis was injured yesterday against Santa Cruz while running the bases. He sustained a strained groin muscle and is listed on the injury report as day-to-day. The team trainer said Davis will likely not miss too much action, perhaps 1-2 weeks.
