He was the top pitcher this season, according to the SION voters.
Edward Scoville of the Arizona Discotheques outdid his pitching peers this year and has been honored with the 2030 Vaughan League Platinum Pitcher.
During his remarkable year Scoville posted a 25-7 record in 37 starts. In 297.1 innings he yielded 214 hits and 24 walks while striking out 302 and compiling a fine 2.00 ERA.
For his fine season the SION Baseball Writers Association will present him his trophy this weekend at its annual awards dinner.

| Tuesday, October 1st, 2030: Arizona Ace Wins Triple Crown
Edward Scoville of the Arizona Discotheques could be headed for the Vaughan League Platinum Pitcher. 2030 was a season he will never forget. The Discotheques pitching star won the league's Triple Crown, winning 25 games, striking out 302 and logging a 2.00 ERA -- all league bests.
"It's an honor," Scoville told SION, "Not many pitchers can say they've won the Triple Crown. Usually the batting Triple Crown gets all of the attention."
In his sensational year he registered 25 wins and 7 losses. An opposing manager said, "I can see how he won 25 games. What I don't understand is how he lost 7."

| Friday, September 13th, 2030: Scoville Twirls Discotheques to Shutout Victory
In an almost effortless performance, Edward Scoville of the Discotheques shot down the Roadkill 1-0 on a 3-hit shutout.
His skipper said, "Edward was just locating so well and using his pitches...not leaving anything over the plate."
Scoville recorded 9 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
In the postgame press conference, the Trenton manager said, "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game like he can and we couldn't get a key hit off him."
This season-to-date Scoville has 22 wins and 7 losses and a 2.02 ERA.
