Zach Clay took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Ohl League Pitcher of the Month award for August.
The 21-year-old Troondonts starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 5-0 won-lost record in 5 starts. He has fanned 23 batters in 40.1 innings and sports a 1.12 ERA.
Clay has made 25 starts, tossed 171.2 innings, struck out 75 batters and walked 31. His record is 12-7 with a 2.99 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .243 batting average. |

There's something about a young rookie winning the Coppage League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Curt Talley, a 19-year-old starter for the Field A Red Team.
In August, he topped off the month with a 5-1 mark and 1.29 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 49 innings, fanned 50 and held opposing teams to a .164 average.
Over the season Talley has thrown 170 innings and dished out 130 strikeouts with a 13-5 mark and a 2.28 ERA. |

Not known for his offensive prowess, Woodrow Neal set the league afire in August and took home the Ohl League Batter of the Month award.
The Summerville first baseman posted a steady .440 batting average, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 14 runs.
This year Neal has collected a .463 batting average to date with 57 hits in 123 at-bats, 14 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 16 times. He has played in 32 games. |
