It seemed that Orono shortstop Bob Brooks could do no wrong as the Ingersolls kayoed the Bluefish 17-5 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Wildwood pitchers couldn't get him out as Brooks seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Ingersolls were stealing signs." growled one unhappy Wildwood fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play." exclaimed the jubilant Brooks in the postgame press interview. B. Brooks hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off H. Mair in the 8th. Thus far this year Brooks has hit .411 with 5 home runs and 33 RBIs. |
