 | Saturday, May 11th, 2030: Brooks 5-5 for Ingersolls Bob Brooks told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Brooks of the Orono Ingersolls did against the Greensboro Freshmen. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Freshmen, who suffered a 18-6 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." B. Brooks doubled in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. Brooks is hitting .386 in 2030 with 4 home runs, 30 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 101 at-bats and played in 24 games. |
