 | Wednesday, September 19th, 2029: Blue Devils Defeat Originals 4-3 You could hear the cheering all over Danville as the Blue Devils secured the final out of a 11-7 win over the Ithaca Originals to capture the 2029 Coppage League Coppage Cup 4-3. It was the 1st time in the team's history to win it. "The Originals are a good ballclub," said the winning skipper, "We had to play at our best to beat them." "Anytime you make big plays, it changes the momentum of the game," the losing manager said. "The Blue Devils made 'em and we didn't -- end of story." During the season the new champs compiled a 80-50 record in the Coppage League Midwest Division and finished in first place in the standings. |
