But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Santiago Durán showed how it's done as he went 5 for 7 against the Muncie Squires and helped the Sonoma Vintners beat them 7-6. The manager for the Squires told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames." If Durán keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. S. Durán struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 13th. This season Durán has hit at a .282 clip and produced 26 RBIs, 3 home runs and 18 runs scored. |
