 | Sunday, August 12th, 2029: Vázquez Bashes 5 Base Hits It was a good day for the Troondonts at Troondonts Ballpark as they clipped the Ithaca Originals 18-4. It was tremendous day for Manuel Vázquez, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 6 barrage. The Stevens Point first baseman told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm 'not dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then in a split-second decide to try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well." M. Vázquez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off D. House in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. In the 2029 season Vázquez is batting .362 with 29 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 14 times and batted in 17. |
