 | Sunday, August 18th, 2030: 5-5 Day for Ortíz! There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Cris Ortíz of the Little Rock Squealing Pigs had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 11-2 win over the London Knights at Ballpark of Little Rock. The 23-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." C. Ortíz singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. So far this season Ortíz has gotten 41 hits in 151 at-bats for a .272 batting average with no home runs. His stats include 16 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has played in 48 games. |
