Monday, July 29th, 2030: 3000-th Hit for Maine!
Trenton's Paul Maine got the standing ovation -- but the Capital City Metropolitans got the win.
It was a historic day at Doubleday Park. A day when Maine notched hit #3000 of his career. The fans went wild when he did. Even the Metropolitans fans applauded.

The Roadkill third baseman went 1-4 in a losing cause as Capital City spoiled the party with the 5-2 victory.

In the postgame interview, a downhearted Maine told the media, "We lost -- It's not about individual accomplishments -- we lost."

When pressed further, he admitted his pride in reaching the 3000-hit mark, "A lot of great players never get there. I'm proud, but I would be happier if we had won."

Looking at his all-time stats, Maine has a lifetime .305 average with 3000 hits, 601 doubles, 59 triples, 667 home runs and 1859 RBIs. To date he has scored 1748 runs, walked 553 times and stolen 276 bases.
