Streak Finally Over, Vasquez Held Hitless
Friday, September 26th, 2064
The Wichita Tumbleweeds did something to David Vasquez no team had done for the last 23 games -- they held him hitless and stopped his consecutive-game hitting streak. But they didn't stop the Confederates. Richmond came away with a 6-0 victory at Robert E. Lee Memorial Battlefield.

Commenting on the demise of the streak, the 26-year-old left fielder told BNN, "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever, but it was a good ride while it lasted."

Currently Vasquez has 33 home runs and a .258 batting average.
