6-for-7 Day for Bernard
Nate Bernard was at the head of a Indianapolis hit parade today at David Letterman Field. The first baseman went to the plate 7 times and came away with 6 hits, sparking the Ice Weasels to a 24-1 victory over the Montego Bay Red Stripe.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Bernard told reporters after the game. " Seems like it worked out pretty well for us today."

Red Stripe skipper Mike Paris said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Nate Bernard singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

To date this season Bernard is hitting .325 with 27 home runs.
