Default New Ownership and Openings Thread

I'd like to welcome wolvie109 to New Jersey and nicon22 to Sam's Town. Some of you may know nicon from a previous stint in [the previous] WOOF, and I think most know wolvie from FOBL and lounge exploits. Welcome aboard, guys!

(now, to apply some pressure to Morg with wolvie's help. )

AgentK should be checking in soon as the new owner of Norwich.

Chrome will be taking over in Dodge City and keeping QuikSand company in his division.

That was one of the reasons I jumped in too, saw someone all lonely like and figured why not fill out the division.........plus their logo is awesome with that noose, so it all works out

Ah, yeah - that logo was one of my first attempts at learning Adobe Illustrator. Fritz had to guide me on how to get the V both in front of and behind the noose.

Also as a note to new owners checking in - the league does have a chat feature (see the Lounge link at the top of the forum), but it requires an additional setup in order to sign in. If you are interested just let me know, though I will warn that it can be a bit of a time sink.

(I will also note that most discussions are not of the FOF variety, and lounge activity ebbs and flows.)

Good to see the NC East filling up, lots of talent in that division! The DGC logo is one of my favorites too. Welcome aboard Chrome!

I've been designing banners/flags/signs for roughly 15 years so I actually know exactly how that particular pain goes

    Shit....should I hide now or edit my post? I mean.........I don't design anything. Never have....what's a computer??!

Joking aside, I'd never call what I do "graphic design", but if you need anything - shout it out and if I can help, I'm in. If not, no harm, no foul

Oh, I don't intend to immediately bug or enlist you. But having someone with skills around* is interesting. And I am into various forms of signage.

(I've done most of the graphics treatment for FOFL, some of the logos, and some of the stuff for FOBL as well but I wouldn't call what I do graphic design either. But I am semi-capable at tinkering with things.)

    * Simms and Fritz also have these, but are very busy men.

Eh, not so much my job as much as most of Ben's leagues are full, I think.

    Fixed.

There are definitely more new people from the Steam release joining MP leagues quickly than I'd anticipated. (And I'm not joking, the four leagues I run all have waiting lists now.) I don't know how long it will last, but right now we're getting new members at FOFC in numbers higher than we did at the times of release of FOF2K7 or FOF7. Cuerv picked a very good time to revamp the web site. It's clear that people are choosing this league over the others at FOFC because of that. (I got a head start over everyone else by advertising in the Steam forum*.) Other leagues aren't filling up as quickly as mine did and this one is.

*--Side note: the existence of the Steam FOF forum brings an odd new dynamic. People are asking for advice on the game there and often getting it from other inexperienced players. I've seen quite a bit of stuff there that's just plain incorrect. ("Your player is 'Unhappy' because he has a Chemistry conflict!") I tend to doubt that many of the vets will migrate over there.

Oh yeah - I don't think I have any real urge to join the Steam forums (not to mention they are blocked at work).

Actually I should be fine. I'm too much of a control freak to really ask for much help with stuff. Might be cool to eventually see samples of work though, maybe pick up a few ideas.

I've done around 14k signs/banners/flags over the years..........I'm not picking samples lol

Though to be fair, a good portion of those are just basic text things that say happy anniversary or birthday or some church function. I rarely get to put much skill into anything. To be honest, I've done way cooler things with gaming designs than I have work related.......been in a lot of guilds/groups/clans.

Was also a game dev for a couple years (texturing/modeling/world building), but never amounted to anything. People figure out quick that MMO's are hard to make - go figure!

Hard to make and perhaps more difficult to keep around.

Yep, I'm here today only because I saw the game on Steam. I never knew it existed (not that I was looking) but so happy to have found FOF7!
