I'm not in favor of banning pitch limits. If I want to give player X a short rope because he's only got a 4 stamina, or because he's weak and I really would rather put the game in the hands of my bullpen, I should be able to. I'd support a "pitch count has to either be 0 or at least XX", though, if we do go through with something like this. Don't know what to set the XX at, myself, though.

If were running a real team, I would be sorely tempted to pitch nine guys in three-inning stints, in a three-game rotation. That would leave me with three (or four) situational relievers that I would bring in during either particularly high leverage moments or when a guy had such a bad say that I just had to yank them.

Not sure where anyone got the idea that I'm a big save guy. I could really care less about them...though I play them up in award/HoF things merely because they are counted. Personally, give me Goose Gossage, Rollie Fingers, and Mike Marshall over any of the Save-Kings, and i'll be happy.

This would effectively give me just under six "fresh" innings every four days out of nine "regulars," and about 1 inning each three days from everyone else. About 50 appearances for each pitcher, give or take. 50 IP for the relievers, 150 IP for the "regulars."

There are perfectly good reasons for doing this in real life, though the players association would get pissy...and in the end, you may not be able to sign the very best starters...who would want to pitch deeper into games.
