    Default Eliminating the callup exemption

It's an administrative PITA to an extent, and since it appears we can't reach an kind of consensus on altering our basic financial structure, this would theoretically get players into FA faster.

    Thoughts?

If the issue is the administrative part, I think we could simply change the rule from X number of games to X number of days in the majors equals a year of service, and let the game handle it.

If the issue is getting players to FA earlier, I'm not yet sure how I feel about it.

100% in favor of dumping the call up rule.

I don't think the game handles it right.

I guess I wouldn't have a problem with it, it seems like in these later versions holding back talent hasn't been much of an issue.

I think the callup exemption does add a little fun to what can be an otherwise lifeless last part of the season, but it is an administrative headache. I don't really care either way, but if it makes life easier on league leadership, I'm for it.

Sounds fine to me. Administrative hassles should be eliminated where they can be.

It's not that much of a burden from my end - Ron's script identifies these guys well - so it's mostly a question of how it is on Steve's. I think most of the time there are more guys who have to be explicitly released (partial years leading to under 5 years service time) than having to be re-added.

I almost think there are more admin headaches in dealing with people who either misread the rule or otherwise screw it up in some manner.

Quick question before I vote: Elimination would not affect those players who have already had a callup year (and are still on their rookie deal), would it?

IMO this type of rule change always needs to be grandfathered in.
