    Default Permanent Sunday Sims

I polled this question before and got more "yays" than "nays." I'm interested in checking in again.

I would like us to churn through seasons a little bit faster. I think doing so would enhance interest, especially with teams (like mine, yes) who are rebuilding. This proposal doesn't add much of a burden on owners, especially considering many people rarely export more than a few times during the season and we have injuries and fatigue set below average. Besides, those who regularly export are invested enough to welcome this, I believe.

I do all the simming and am willing to accept the additional burden of running the Sunday sims prior to the trading deadline.

What say you? I would really like to do this.

I would make sure that the trading deadline doesn't fall on a Sunday or Monday sim, FWIW.

My exact proposal would not require Sunday sims, so if I die and somebody else takes over, they could scale things back.

    I would change this section:

    IV. GAMEPLAY

    A. Regular season simulations will be run 3 times in every 7-day period, preferably on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. After the trade deadline has passed, a 4th sim every week on Sundays will be added. The Commissioner, subject to oversight by the Board of Governors, may alter the date of any simulation at his discretion provided that reasonable notice has been given to the ownership of such change. The Commissioner may delegate another owner to run the simulation (the "Simmer").
    to read:

    IV. GAMEPLAY

    A. Regular season simulations will be run 3 times may be run up to 4 times in every 7-day period, preferably on a Sunday-Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. After the trade deadline has passed, a 4th sim every week on Sundays will be added. The Commissioner, subject to oversight by the Board of Governors, may determine the total number of sims per week, in addition to altering the date of any simulation at his discretion provided that reasonable notice has been given to the ownership of such change. The Commissioner may delegate another owner to run the simulation (the "Simmer").

Hell, I'd even be in favor of simming 10 or 14 days at a time too.

If we did Sunday sims, could we make them Sunday morning sims to give even out the time between sims?

    I think it's a good idea, Shaw. I'm there.

Unlike FOF where missing a sim is critical, I think we can push the pedal down a bit more here.

I'm for this. But I'd probably vote against 10 or 14 day sims.

BTW - Is our leadership going to take the initiative to put together playoff/finishing incentive amendment proposals that can lead to a vote?

I used to care enough to do this, but my immersion has waned enough that I'd rather let the appropriate authorities take the reins.

Definitely against 10-14 days in a sim-an injury in the first game of said sim could just kill a team. I'm fine with adding the Sunday sim on a regular basis if like Duke suggested they are run on Sunday morning.

I am a Yes vote for shaw's proposal. The proposed language cleverly embeds flexibility as well as acceleration, and is an excellent example of good legislative drafting.

I'm not sure there is any consensus on a single proposal, but the other thread would be a good place to reopen the discussion.

As soon as (if) we get 22 YES votes in the poll, I'll put it up for a vote ASAP with immediate implementation.

I think this enjoys overwhelming support, so I went ahead and put up the voting thread. That way, if we get it implemented immediately, people will have enough notice for this Sunday. Hopefully I'm not misreading things.

    Notes:

    1. I will take steps to move the trading deadline in future years so it doesn't fall on a Sunday or Monday.
    2. Sunday sims will be run no later than the early afternoon to give people time to export for Monday. I will post and keep a consistent schedule.
    3. If people don't like it, or a simmer takes over who doesn't have time to run sims on Sunday, the language allows us to go back to "normal" in response to owners' complaints.
