    Default Hollywood Comes Alive!

Oh baby don't it feel like heaven right now
Don't it feel like somethin' from a dream
Yeah I've never known nothing quite like this
Don't it feel like tonight might never be again
We know better than to try and pretend
Baby no one could have ever told me 'bout this

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

Tom Petty got it right... waiting sucks. Especially when you haven't made the playoffs since fake 2036. The usual Whore draft pick rebuild strategy was going nicely until C Dewitt Austin died from a splinter in his heel and a twisted testicle due to a break-dancing accident. That was a wake-up call for Chief Whore Shaw. Better to use the prospects now, because they could be gone tomorrow. River Scott, Jarred Sims, and Don Jones aren't getting any younger.

The Whores are inexplicably hanging around at .500 after the All-Star Break and are only 1 game back of the playoffs (and 7 of 1st place) despite pedestrian team statistics. Shaw had to plug some holes (his greatest talent) at SP, the infield and the clean-up spot. He jumped into action this sim, burning teenage heartthrob and mustache aficionado SP R.J. Lawson's callup year, bringing up 18-year-old closer and Twilight super-fan Mal Rowe for a 24-game callup run, and plundering the Arizona franchise for underachieving infielder Angelo Barron and rookie masher OF Ruben Vasquez. Look for recent 7th overall pick 3B Micheal Mines to make a callup appearance in September too.

An additional deadline deal involving Montego Bay's SP Adrian Villegas fell through, with unnamed sources claiming the deal fell apart because obstinate cocksucker MBJ owner Doc P failed to recognize the value being handed to him on a silver platter by the generous-to-a-fault Chief Whore Shaw.

Alas, hope is alive in Hollywood once again, for at least one sim.

    Good stuff!!

Maybe one of these years, after studying the ways of the ultra-generous FOBL elder statesmen, I will finally learn and truly understand the meaning of value. I will strive for this understanding, and will never rest until my journey is complete.

I was really expecting another musician besides Tom Petty here...

I did not have you pegged as a Tom Petty guy. Dave Brubeck, yes. Not Petty.

Are you saying those eyebrows do *not* scream Dave Brubeck to you? How about Herb Alpert?

"Spanish Flea" is a popular song written by Julius Wechter in the 1960s with lyrics by Cissy Wechter.

The song is best known from an instrumental version by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, released as a single and on their 1965 album Going Places, both of which were No.1 hits in America. The song featured Alpert's trumpet over a Latin rhythm backing and was used as the "Bachelorís Theme" on the long-running American television show The Dating Game.
Ok, Herb Alpert I can buy.
