In the past the players on the ballot were new retirees as selected by the HOF committee, plus returning retirees that had a certain number of votes on previous ballots. Was that method used again this time? If yes, can you tell me how many (in % I guess) votes a player needs to stay on the ballot?

Section IX, articles D and F will be amended to as follows: (changes in bold)

    D. After that two-week period, the vote shall commence. For each player, the voter will have to vote either yes or no. There will be no limit to the number of yes votes that can be cast. Write-in votes are allowed. The voting period shall last one week. All owners and officially recognized vultures (“vultures” are individuals on the Waiting List and former owners whose contributions to the league have merited special status with respect to certain FOBL matters) are eligible to vote.

    F. If a player receives less than ten (10) percent of the total vote, he shall lose his remaining eligibility. If a player is neither elected nor removed from the ballot after three (3) seasons, he shall no longer be eligible. Players that were currently on the ballot before the 2018 season selection can continue to stay on the ballot for three (3) additional seasons.

Yes, the same method was used to produce this year's ballot. Holdovers from last year's ballot includes anyone who received at least 75% of the vote in the 2018 ballot. You can review voting totals for that ballot here: http://www.thefobl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18572

The unusually large number of carryovers is, no doubt, due mostly to the new yes/no, no limit to the number of votes system we voted in as Subby pointed out. To compensate, holdovers are now limited to three ballot appearances instead of the previous 5.

Thx guys and yeah, it was about the large number of players. Hoping that number does not adversely impact voting.

With the forum upgrade, the hack I was using to hide the poll results no longer works, and there is no equivalent (yet) for the new version. So as not to compromise the results so far, I moved the voting thread to my secret hideaway forum. Hopefully I'll be able to bring it back out soon.
